Here’s a list of the courses/clubs up to an hour’s drive from Trevalgas Cottages – mostly in Cornwall and some in Devon.  There are many more further afield.


Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club

2 miles from Trevalgas, 18-hole: Par 71  Link to website
A links course with clubhouse in the town, taking players along the coast and inland. Certainly one of Cornwall’s finest courses, with excellent drainage enabling play through all seasons, plus a practice ground, club/trolley and buggy hire, bar, restaurant and a function room. Visitors most welcome.


Ivyleaf

2 miles away – 9-hole, Par 32,  Link to website
Just a couple of miles away and a turning off the A39 towards Kilkhampton – a parkland course overlooking the coast. Visitors are welcome to “pay as you play” and no handicap is required. The course boasts a covered, floodlit driving range along with club and trolley hire.


Holsworthy Golf Course

A parkland course to suit golfers of all standards, with stunning scenery and an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Fully licensed clubhouse and excellent and varied catering services.


Hartland Forest Golf Club

A mature parkland course set in rolling countryside in the most picturesque of settings, with gentle slopes and many water hazards – all of which offer an interesting challenge to golfers of all levels of experience. Golf Karts are available for hire


Launceston

About ½-hour drive (18 miles) A39 to Stratton, then A3072 towards Holsworthy, at Redpost take B3254 towards Launceston.  18-hole, Par 70, Link to website
Hilly in places and with one or two challenging holes, plus spectacular views of the historic castle and over both the moors of Bodmin and Dartmoor.


Bowood Park

20 miles away just off the A39 south of Camelford – 18-hole: Par 72  Link to website
A wonderful parkland course of championship length, with more lakes and ponds than holes, built to USPGA specification. Buggy hire and Driving Range.


Trethorne

21 miles away, just off the A30 southwest of Launceston, 18-hole, Par 71, Link to website
A parkland course set in wonderful rural countryside, together with Driving Range and a wide range of on-site amenities


Royal North Devon Golf Club

25 miles away. Go north along the A39 to Northam, near Bideford. 18-hole, Par 72, Link to website The oldest golf course in England – with spectacular views over Bideford Bay and Lundy Island, a golfing museum and warm welcome.  And a short drive from Westward Ho!


Driving Range (at Ivyleaf)

A 7-Bay floodlit driving range ideal for practice in all weathers and having stunning views. For about £5, you can hire 3 clubs and have 80 balls to perfect your swing!


Pitch and Putt, Bude

On Summerleaze Down (between Summerleaze and Crooklets Beaches), Bude Cricket Club operates the 9 hole Pitch and Putt


Crazy Golf, Bude

Right in the middle of Bude, you’ll find the Recreational Centre with indoor and outdoor activities including tennis courts, bowls, putting and Crazy Golf.  Close to Bude Light, Castle, TIC and Bude Canal.
