Briar Patch can be summed up as comfortable,
convenient and cosy. You park just a few yards from the
front door, behind which is a well-equipped, single-storey bungalow style
property featuring:-
- Open plan lounge/dining area with two 3-seater leather sofas and
dining table plus 6 chairs;

The adjoining well-equipped kitchen has split-level cooker, large
fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, etc. There is also an
iron and ironing board;
- Briar Patch has TV, VTR, DVD player and CD/Radio/tape
player, together with small selection of videos, DVDs, CDs books
and games/puzzles;
- Three bedrooms - two doubles and one with twin beds. The main
bedroom also has an alarm clock/radio; a hair dryer is also provided;
- Family bathroom, with electric shower over bath, fan heater and
heated towel rail. There is also a separate toilet;
- All windows are double glazed, making Briar Patch warm and
secure;
- There is an electric fire in the lounge and the electric night
storage heaters make it ideal for holidays or short breaks at any time
of the year;
- A full size cot and high chair are available at no extra charge;
- Small patio at front with table and chairs;
- Good-sized secure garden at the rear, with barbecue, patio
furniture, rotary clothes line and a private access gate to the play
area.
Briar Patch is a no smoking cottage, but dogs are accepted by prior
arrangement.
The owners, Betty and John Gimson who live locally in Poughill, have
spent many holidays in self-catering accommodation and they strive to
make Briar Patch as comfortable as possible. The cottage has all
the comforts of home – yet it's set in wonderful countryside bordered
by the rugged Cornwall coast, and only 1½ miles from superb sandy
beaches and Bude town centre.
For the last three years, the English Tourist Board has
awarded Briar Patch a '4 star' rating for
self-catering accommodation - the most recent inspection being on
12th March 2008.
