Each year 25 - 30% of our guests have stayed at Blackberry or Bramblewood (our other cottage next door) previously, which is a high return rate for self catering cottages in general . We are not complacent though, and we continually improve our accommodation to ensure our guests enjoy their return visits even more!
Here is a selection of
comments either from Blackberry's guest book,
or emailed
directly to us. |

Visited Port Issac and Padstow, and enjoyed drinks on the
roof terrace of Rick Stein's seafood restaurant. It's no more
expensive for drinks than anywhere else and the views are
fantastic across the Camel Estuary. Visited the Olive tree on Bude Wharf several times for drinks
at various times of day and once in the evening for a meal - can
recommend it especially if sitting in the conservatory.
Enjoyed the new barbecue and it was warm enough to sit
outside in the evenings. |
Our son (aged 2¾) loved the play
area - especially the tractor & we felt he was completely safe. The pool was great after a day at the beach: we had it to
ourselves most days. Our favourite places: - Summerleaze Beach - great for kids We would definitely love to stay again. |
Had great school half term weather.
Ellie enjoyed the Efford Downs Stables horse riding. Joe enjoyed
the model shop on the Quay. Some great waves at Widmouth Bay,
and Northcott Beach very peaceful and serene. Hope to come back
soon. |
A fabulous and stress free
family holiday - the cottage was lovely, and I would
love to return in the future.

We had one of the best holidays ever and would definitely consider going back. The cottage and all the facilities are simply superb.

It was one of the nicest holidays we’ve had. Spent a relaxing week
between Bude and the cottage - walks either side of the
main beach well worth exploring. Thanks for the hire of the cottage – we had a great time! |
|
Great cottage – great holiday.

|
Blackberry Lodge is so
well equipped – we found everything (and more) that we
needed. We’ll be back soon!

* Launceston Steam Railway.
We combined this with a visit to New Mills farm park. The train
ticket allows you to travel up & down the line all day, and the farm
park kept our two entertained for hours – well worth a visit. |

|
A visit to Crackington Haven and the Cabin Cafe is a must!
We hope to visit again. |
|
Over the past few days we have made numerous sandcastles on Summerleaze, Widemouth and Sandymouth, seen huge waves at Duckpool, had a lovely walk in Coombe Valley and tried to catch fish in the stream. Had the best cream teas at Rectory Farm Tea rooms at Morwenstow, and had a beautiful day at RHS Rosemoor Gardens, the boys (4 and 21 months) enjoyed collecting different coloured leaves. There is still so much more we would
like to see so hope to come back again.

|
If you go to Launceston Steam Railway, we
recommend you visit the farm park at the end of the line,
especially if you have young children. |
|
Some lovely cliff walks at
Tintagel, Higher Sharp Nose Point and Hartland Point. Enjoyed days out at the Eden Project,
Newquay Zoo and the Cornish Cider Farm. |
|
Beaches wise - Crooklets,
Summerleaze and Widemouth all fabulous and accessable with the
extensive supplies you need with littlies.
|
|
Hope to be back next year! |

We have had a hectic time

Shopping Village, Bude and beaches, Launceston and
Padstow!
Thank you for providing such excellent accommodation, which has exceeded our expectations.

We had a lovely week; the cottage was all that we were hoping for. The weather got very exciting over the New Year and the waves were fabulous. My daughter and her partner joined us for the weekend and we celebrated the New Year on Crooklets Beach with a bottle of Champagne bought hurriedly from the Preston pub at 10 o’clock. The moon came out as we watched the fireworks

Fantastic beach fun - great out of season. We paddled and Daisy (2½) swam in Summerleaze, Crooklets and Sandymouth. Thanks for the lovely warm pool and floats - great fun, and changing area very clean - happy to use them. Thank you for the friendly touches and helpful staff - makes all the difference to a holiday

We are so sad to leave this cottage which has been our home (and far cleaner and better equipped than my own) for two weeks now. Last night my son suggested a game of 'sticky toffee' in the fields beyond the garden and all of us, aunties, uncles, Granddad and Nannie (extended family in cottage next door) spent the most glorious hour winging our way in and out of the flower beds and through the climbing frame until we were out of breath. What a magical place this is. E Tennant July 06 |

There were many little extras we didn't expect which made us feel
welcome and at home. |
|
Although the weather wasn't brilliant, the cottage exceeded our
expectations with everything we needed and was very cosy in the evenings. |
|
What lovely weather we've been blessed with to enjoy this lovely part
of Cornwall. |

Had an enjoyable pre-Easter break at Blackberry -very impressed with the standard of accommodation (and the Easter Eggs awaiting us on arrival)! Thank you for helping to make our time at Blackberry so enjoyable. We would very much like to return at some point in the future. C Dodd March 06 |

We loved Blackberry Lodge. It was equipped with everything we needed. Very tastefully decorated, clean & new. It was like home from home and made our stay here in Cornwall lovely and relaxing. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have stumbled across your lovely cottage on the internet. D Giddings Feb 06 |
