(The children) loved the play area and played football in the field.
We had a fantastic holiday and the cottage was one of the best we've stayed in. A
fantastic quiet location, really well equipped and the pool was lovely!

The whole experience from enquiry, through booking, confirmation and the stay itself was superb.
The friendliness and efficiency shown and the attention to detail were impressive.
The cottage is wonderfully equipped and very comfortable indeed.
The stay was all we could have hoped for... and more! We are very grateful to our
friends for recommending this great place.
S Pittis January 2011
A Christmas visit - a shared Christmas with family living in Bude - we did not use the facilities but had this as a welcome and warm haven from the riotous company of young adults.
A great place to stay, and I would recommend it to anyone on or off season.

As someone who likes to plan for every eventuality on holiday & pack accordingly, it was refreshing to stay in a cottage that was so well equipped that I didn't need to pack as many belongings for this holiday. Katherine, you really have thought of everything and it made the stay thoroughly enjoyable.
The pool was great, just the right temperature. Played table tennis in the games room one evening: great to have this facility on site.
I loved the fact that the garden led onto the play area. Ewan really enjoyed crawling
through the tractor and sitting on the bouncy animals.
D Blades September 2010
A lovely well-appointed cottage, a lovely area and some wonderful weather - what more could you ask of a British holiday !
Much boarding boarding by all (6 more in another cottage) with Bude, Sandymouth, Crackington Haven and Harlyn (nr Padstow) firm favourites.
Thank you Katherine - all your extras and attention to detail are very much appreciated.
Oh, forgot the pool and games room - in a group ranging from 7 to 73 they added to
the great week had by all of us.
The Coulson Family August 2010
Had yet another totally relaxing week on our 4th visit.
Visited Port Issac and Padstow, and enjoyed drinks on the roof terrace of Rick Stein's seafood restaurant. It's no more expensive for drinks than anywhere else and the views are fantastic across the Camel Estuary.
Visited the Olive tree on Bude Wharf several times for drinks at various times of day and once in the evening for a meal - can recommend it especially if sitting in the conservatory.
Enjoyed the new barbecue and it was warm enough to sit outside in the evenings.
T
Bartley, July 2010 (4th visit and rebooked for 2011)
We loved Blackberry Lodge. It had everything we needed and more. We loved that there were freezer blocks and plastic containers - we picnicked at the beach every day.
Our son (aged 2¾) loved the play area - especially the tractor & we felt he was completely safe. The pool was great after a day at the beach: we had it to ourselves most days.
Our favourite places:
- Summerleaze Beach - great for kids
- Scrummies - local cafe do great fish and chips
- Lansdown Bakery Cafe - do a mean cream tea & the service is fab.
We would definitely love to stay again.
The Mercer Family, June 2010
Blackberry Lodge is very well equipped. Made use of the Landsdown Dairy grocery and deliver service. Very efficient.
Had great school half term weather. Ellie enjoyed the Efford Downs Stables horse riding. Joe enjoyed the model shop on the Quay.
Some great waves at Widmouth Bay, and Northcott Beach very peaceful and serene. Hope
to come back soon.
S Cooper, May 2010 (3rd visit, and rebooked for 2011)
Kids loved the play area, and great to be able to let an 8 & 3 year old play with new found friends independently, whilst we watched from the garden.
A fabulous and stress free family holiday - the cottage was lovely, and I would love
to return in the future.
V Black April 2010
I would like to thank you so very much for this lovely accommodation.
We had one of the best holidays ever and would definitely consider going back. The
cottage and all the facilities are simply superb.
I Guzik Feb 2010
Thank you for a lovely stay - cottage perfect, and we have been blessed with excellent weather.
Going home relaxed and refreshed.
B Black Mar 2010
Great cottage with an excellent pool.
It was one of the nicest holidays we’ve had. Spent a relaxing week between Bude and the cottage - walks either side of the main beach well worth exploring.
Thanks for the hire of the cottage – we had a great time!
R Savage, Dec 2009
Pool was fantastic, as we had it to ourselves late one afternoon.
Great cottage – great holiday.
L Sugden, Oct 2009
It’s our first visit to Blackberry Lodge and we have all had a wonderful time. The weather has been very kind, lots of sunshine and time spent on the beaches with our two year old jumping in the waves.
Blackberry Lodge is so well equipped – we found everything (and more) that we needed.
We’ll be back soon!
S Field, Sept 2009
Blackberry Lodge has been a haven – well equipped, clean & very comfortable. We visited many places while we were here, our tips would be
* Launceston Steam Railway. We combined this with a visit to New Mills farm park. The train ticket allows you to travel up & down the line all day, and the farm park kept our two entertained for hours – well worth a visit.
* Crackington Haven beach was great for our two, with a stream that they played in for hours.
* Atlantic Village Outlet & leisure adventure park, we had intended to visit for
an hour or so on the way to the Milky Way, but we stayed all day and the children
loved it.
The Seabrook Family, Aug 2009
We’ve had a lovely week in this clean, comfortable cottage and have enjoyed the gardens, play area and swimming pool – every day!
We made the most of the excellent kitchen facilities & also enjoyed local fish &
chips, warm Cornish pasties, a meal at the child friendly Atlantic Diner & cream
teas in Boscastle!
The Feast Family, May 2009
We have had a fab few days staying at Blackberry Lodge! The Lodge is excellent, with good facilities and well equipped. The surrounding complex is clean and well thought out.
A visit to Crackington Haven and the Cabin Cafe is a must!
We hope to visit again.
The Thorne Family Feb 09 (and returned in Feb 2010)
We have had a great few days staying at Blackberry, the accommodation has exceeded our expectations, so well equipped and clean.
Over the past few days we have made numerous sandcastles on Summerleaze, Widemouth and Sandymouth, seen huge waves at Duckpool, had a lovely walk in Coombe Valley and tried to catch fish in the stream.
Had the best cream teas at Rectory Farm Tea rooms at Morwenstow, and had a beautiful day at RHS Rosemoor Gardens, the boys (4 and 21 months) enjoyed collecting different coloured leaves.
There is still so much more we would like to see so hope to come back again.

We have spent spent an enjoyable week at Blackberry Lodge.
Walking the Coast Path, particularly between Bude and Hartland Pont is to place oneself
in some of the most magnificent scenery in Britain.
T White Sept 08 (and rebooked
for Autumn in 08, ‘10 and ‘11)
We have enjoyed our week at Blackberry, and although the weather could have been better, we cannot fault the cottage, it's well equipped and a home from home. Our son enjoyed the books, games and games room. The pool was well used and gave the opportunity for our 16 week old baby girl to experience her first swim.
If you go to Launceston Steam Railway, we recommend you visit the farm park at the
end of the line, especially if you have young children.
P Fish Aug 08
Lovely cottage - the play area at the back has been used a lot, as has the swimming pool and table tennis.
Some lovely cliff walks at Tintagel, Higher Sharp Nose Point and Hartland Point.
Enjoyed days out at the Eden Project, Newquay Zoo and the Cornish Cider Farm.
The
Gyte Family July 08
Thank you for providing a most welcoming holiday home Katherine - we have been amazed at the level of thoughtfulness that has gone into the cottage's 'supplies'- especially appreciated the bag of plug socket safety covers - every last detail covered.
Beaches wise - Crooklets, Summerleaze and Widemouth all fabulous and accessable with
the extensive supplies you need with littlies.
The Wallace Family June 08
This is our second holiday here and we've had a great time again but it's gone too quickly. We've done lots of different things, like Sandymouth beach, walking from there to Northcott and back, and visiting Tamar Lakes at Kilkhampton. We also had an exciting visit to Tintagel when the Devon Air Ambulance had to be called and our boys got to sit in it. We also saw a seal in the bay.
Hope to be back next year!
The Wiss Family May 08 (rebooked for '09, '10 and ‘11)
Swimming Pool was great.
Games Room was good.
Bedrooms were cosy.
Lovely Orchard.
Great Playground.
We enjoyed Boscastle, Tintagel, Launceston and Bude. The best standard of s/c accommodation
we have stayed in.

Cox April 08
The cottage is lovely and very warm ! Our 3 year old daughter has loved staying here, riding her bike, swimming and playing in the play area.
We have had a hectic time visiting Boscastle, Tintagel, Trethorne Farm, Atlantic Shopping Village, Bude and beaches, Launceston and Padstow!
Thank you for providing such excellent accommodation, which has exceeded our expectations.
H Cole Feb 08 (rebooked for Aug 09)
We've had a wonderful week's holiday - it’s a cosy, comfortable & well equipped cottage. We've all really enjoyed our daily swim in the pool, and usually had it to ourselves. We celebrated New Year's Day with hot chocolate & hobnobs on Crooklets Beach in glorious sunshine.
We saw plenty braving the surf at Widemouth Bay! Have also enjoyed trips to Tintagel,
Boscastle and Clovelly. Will definitely recommend Blackberry and Bramblewood to friends.
The Harrison Family Jan 08
Lovely area –smashing cottage.
Our two boys had a magical Christmas and because of that – so did we. Hope to return
in the near future.
The Devo Family Dec 07
Just wanted to say thank you for the week we just spent at Blackberry lodge. Place was better than we expected which is always good! We certainly managed to pack a lot in while we were down there and tired the boys out.
The wifi access connected straight up and worked fine the whole time I was there.
It was really useful. We went onto the 'Visit Bude' website and found Crackington
Haven had rock pools (which Harry enjoys) and then used the web to find the tide
times so we turned up when we could get access to them.
A Beeton Sept 07 (and rebooked
for '08)
We have spent a lovely comfortable two weeks here at Blackberry - a very well equipped cottage. Widemouth Bay good for young children when tide is low as shallow pool of sea is left - great for paddling or floating on surf board !
Bude lovely, cottage great - beautiful garden and kids loved play area. Will definitely
be back!
N Dawson Aug 07
It was the best cottage we've stayed in - like home from home. So nice to have a proper, carefully tended garden, dishwasher and digibox when you're used to them at home.
We had a brilliant time and hope to come back.
T Bartley July 07 (rebooked for '08,
'09, '10 and ‘11)
Blackberry is great, with everything we needed and more! Abigail loved learning to
swim in the pool ! We've had a lovely week and looking forward to returning in the
future. Thank you Katherine for the excellent communications before and during our
stay.
A Kerner June 07
The cottage was lovely and clean with everything you could ever need to use catered for. We found lots to do in the area and there were many nice coastal walks to choose.
C Knight May 07 (second stay)
We've had a fantastic week. We took some great coastal walks along the cliff tops - just long enough for a decent walk but having great cafes in the middle where we all enjoyed ice-cream. (A bit of bribery as the boys are only 4 and 5!). The pool was a fantastic bonus - one we've used everyday. Harry is particularly proud of the fact that he can now swim nearly a width with no armbands.
Thank you for helping to make our stay so enjoyable and comfortable. The personal
touches made us feel very welcome.
K Broome April 07
We had a lovely week; the cottage was all that we were hoping for. The weather got very exciting over the New Year and the waves were fabulous.
My daughter and her partner joined us for the weekend and we celebrated the New Year
on Crooklets Beach with a bottle of Champagne bought hurriedly from the Preston pub
at 10 o’clock. The moon came out as we watched the fireworks
M Clark Dec 06
Fantastic beach fun - great out of season. We paddled and Daisy (2½) swam in Summerleaze, Crooklets and Sandymouth.
Thanks for the lovely warm pool and floats - great fun, and changing area very clean - happy to use them.
Thank you for the friendly touches and helpful staff - makes all the difference to
a holiday
A Wengraf Oct 06
We had a brilliant holiday! Blackberry Lodge was so impressive, really clean and tidy. We loved it! All the little things mean so much, eg games, books.
Bude is lovely. We spent a lot of time on the beach. Jamie (12 months nearly!) enjoyed exploring the rock pools, while Dad (Kevin) and Philip (14 years) enjoyed the body boarding. Justine (Mum) had fun watching everyone have fun!
A great holiday had by all. Hope the next people have as much fun as we did!
The
Regan Family Aug 06 (and rebooked for summer '07)
We are so sad to leave this cottage which has been our home (and far cleaner and better equipped than my own) for two weeks now.
Last night my son suggested a game of 'sticky toffee' in the fields beyond the garden and all of us, aunties, uncles, Granddad and Nannie (extended family in cottage next door) spent the most glorious hour winging our way in and out of the flower beds and through the climbing frame until we were out of breath.
What a magical place this is.
E Tennant July 06
There were many little extras we didn't expect which made us feel welcome and at home.
The pool in particular is one of the best we've used in a holiday cottage, and both children (4 & 9yrs) enjoyed the play area.
We enjoyed ourselves, as always, and will come back - again!
The Crotty Family
June 06 (Previously stayed in Bramblewood)
Although the weather wasn't brilliant, the cottage exceeded our expectations with everything we needed and was very cosy in the evenings.
As a first family holiday I don't think we could have done any better.
The Sweeting
Family May 06
What lovely weather we've been blessed with to enjoy this lovely part of Cornwall.
We spent a day in Boscastle, imagining what happened in the flash flood on '04. We drove to Clovelly in Devon and climbed down the pretty cobbled streets to the harbour, then up again to visit the famous donkeys in their stables. Had a bracing walk along the cliff tops at Port Isaac and ate delicious pasties on the quayside.
Loved the cottage and all the facilities -thank you for your hospitality - especially
the Easter eggs.
The Evans Family April 06
Had an enjoyable pre-Easter break at Blackberry -very impressed with the standard of accommodation (and the Easter Eggs awaiting us on arrival)!
Thank you for helping to make our time at Blackberry so enjoyable. We would very
much like to return at some point in the future.
C Dodd March 06
We loved Blackberry Lodge. It was equipped with everything we needed.
Very tastefully decorated, clean & new. It was like home from home and made our stay here in Cornwall lovely and relaxing.
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have stumbled across your lovely cottage
on the internet.

We are not complacent though, and we continually improve our accommodation to ensure our guests enjoy their return visits even more!
